After taking a detailed history and explaining how the appointment will proceed, your clinician will insert a small funnel into your ear canal.

Your clinician will wear binocular glasses fitted with a bright light in order to get the best view of your ear. The instruments used are the same as what an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist may use.

Microsuction is performed using a small sucker attached to a machine that works like a gentle vacuum cleaner. The clinician may also use small instruments such as forceps and little scoops in order to encourage the debris out. It is important to keep still while this is happening.
